Set against the beautiful galleries of the Morgan Arts Complex, this night will bring together friends, supporters, and community leaders to raise critical funds that ensure every child in Chicago has access to the benefits of chess—at no cost to their families.

The Chicago Chess Foundation is dedicated to providing free, high-quality chess instruction, mentorship, and competition opportunities for thousands of students across the city—especially those from economically disadvantaged communities.
Your support at Checkmates & Cocktails directly funds the following youth development programs:
Rook Rattle & Roll – after-school chess clubs in schools and community centers
Pawns to Queens – our leadership and college-prep track for rising stars
Citywide Tournaments – inclusive events where every child, regardless of background, can compete
With your support, we will do more than teach kids how to play chess. We’ll prepare them to think critically, lead confidently, and succeed in school and in life.
